“Joseph Needham's Puzzle”: A Discussion with “Self-Organizing View”

本文运用自组织观讨论了“李约瑟问题”，认为近代科学之所以未能发生于中国，其主要原因在于社会为科学性知识的演化提供了一个被组织环境，以致于科学成了皇室和政府（官方）的玩物和工具，而游离于那种有竞争性和利润驱动的社会发展过程之外。

In this article, 'Joseph Needham's Puzzle' is discussed in terms of 'Self-Organizing View'. Scientific Revolution did not take place in ancient China, because science was interfered by the outside controlling forces and had become an organized system,or even a toy or tool of the feudal royal family and government, drifting away fromthe economic development of the society, whose characteristics were, however, competition and profit-making.
