The ultrasonic technique for the inspection of the welds in steel spatial grid structures by specially designed probe and test piece, and the classification method for the acceptance of defective welds were described. The problems in the examination of the welds in the tubular parts with diameters of 48~159mm were solved. And a foundation was laid for the preparation of standard JG/T 3034 ultrasonic testing of the welds in double layer grid truss.
