An Analysis of and Strategy for the Present Problems of Population and Family Planning in Guizhou

文章站在西部大开发和可持续发展的高度，在肯定贵州人口与计划生育工作取得的 令人瞩目的成就的同时，对世纪之交贵州严峻的人口问题及其影响进行了概括和分析，探讨了问 题的成因及其表现，在此基础上，提出了进一步加强人口与计划生育工作，控制人口数量，提高人 口素质，营造２１世纪贵州良好人口环境的建议措施。

Based on the west development in China and on the sustainable development, this paper evaluates the notable achievements made by Guizhou People's Government in carrying out population and family-planning policies and their effects on this area at the beginning of this new century. That apart, it discusses the causes of those problems and their presentation in Guizhou. In the end, the paper puts forward certain suggestions and measures with the purPOse to enhance the work for population and family planning, to control population, to improve people's quality and to create a sound population environment.
