This paper is devoted to the investigation of comparison principle of solutions of the first boundary value problem for nonlinear diffusion equation For the proof, no interrelation between A(s) and (?)(s) is required, and the basic assumption is the strict monotonicity of A(s), which is almost necessary and permits the equation to have a strong singularity or degeneracy.
