孔融年轻时即暴得大名 ,成为士林领袖。他心地善良 ,直率坦诚 ,好士爱才 ,嫉恶如仇 ,为官清正 ,佑护百姓。但他名士派头十足 ,举手投足 ,锋芒毕露 ,事无大小 ,率性而行 ,缺乏在复杂多变的政治环境中保护自己的本领。特别是他不谙军事 ,政治才能平平 ,他旗帜鲜明地将自己的命运与形同傀儡的汉献帝联在一起 ,处处时时与权倾朝野的曹操作对 ,由此铸成了合家死灭的悲剧。

Kong Rong became famous when he was young and became the leader of scholars.He was kind,honest and frank.He loved scholars.He hated eoil like an enemy.As a fedual official,he could be free from corruption and work for the interests of the common people.But he put on quite a Show of great gentility,thus he usually made a Showy display of his abilities.He just acted in accordance with his willing.He lacked the ability to protect himself from the complicated political situation.Particularly,he knew little about military affairs and his political ability was average.Having a clear cut stand,he linked his fate with puppet Xian Di of the Han Dynasty.Moreover,he was always opposing Cao Cao,an official with great power.All these led to the tragedy that Kong Rong′s whole family were massacred.[WT5”HZ]
