历史上日本人和海南岛之间的关系渊远流长。早在汉代 ,日本人的一些习俗就与儋耳、珠崖相同 ;唐代日本学问僧曾随鉴真大师在海南造佛殿、讲经学 ;宋代后 ,日本倭寇侵入海南 ,进行掠夺活动 ;清代 ,日本和海南的贸易开始有所进展 ,两地通商略为活跃 ;近代 ,日本人对海南进行地理、资源和军事调查 ,居心叵测 ;到了现代 ,日本对海南的野心已昭然若揭 ,连侨民也成了特务和侵略者。日本人和海南岛的关系进一步恶化 。

The historical relationship between the Japanese and Hainan can date back to a time long ago.As early as the Han Dynasty,the Japanese started to share some customs and habits with those of local residents in Daner and Zhuga (ancient counties in Hainan).In the Tang Dynasty,Japanese monks worked under and assisted Great Master Jian Zhen in building Buddhist temples and inculcating Buddhism doctrines in Hainan.After the Song Dynasty,Japanese pirates invaded and looted in Hainan.In the Qing Dynasty,trade activities between Hainan and Japan started to gain momentum,thus leading to active mutual business dealings.In modern times,the Japanese,harbouring evil intentions over Hainan,conducted investigations into Hainan's geography,resources and military state.When it came to the contemporary age,Japan exhibited its motive of invading Hainan and even the overseas Japanese residing in Hainan became spies and agressors.As such,the relationship between the Japanese and Hainan Island deteriorated,and Hainan was shrouded in terror and danger.
