Socio-Cultural Factors and Foreign Language Teaching

语言与文化的关系密不可分 ,文化在语言中起着十分重要的作用。在外语教学中 ,我们既要向学生传授语言知识 ,还要传授社会文化知识 ,以培养他们的跨文化交际能力。外语教学的根本目的就是培养学生的交际能力 ,交际能力包括五种要素 ,即四种语言能力 (听、说、读、写 )和社会文化能力。

Language is closely related to culture and culture plays an important role in language.In foreign language teaching(FLT),we should teach students both language knowledge and socio cultural knowledge so as to develop their cross cultural communicative competence. The basic objective of FLT is to develop students' communicative competence,which consists of five key elements: four kinds of linguistic competence (listening, speaking,reading and writing) and socio cultural competence.
