陈望道是中国现代杰出思想家、教育家。他在“五四”时期积极宣传马克思主义 ,传播新思想。他关注妇女问题 ,主办进步刊物 ,论述了妇女解放对于社会发展的意义 ,提出了妇女解放的具体作法 ,为推动妇女解放运动做出了重要贡献。

Chen Wangdao was one of the socialist pioneers of China. During the May 4th Movement he did vigorous action to propagate new ideology. He paid attention to the study of women’s issue and made an important contribution to the promotion of women’s liberation movement.
