Overview of the Chinese Gas Industry in 2000

2000年中国新增天然气可采储量3300多亿立方米,全国天然气工业产量277亿立方米,比1999年增长9.9％、天然气销售量约215亿立方米,比1999年增长19％,同时,“西气东输”项目正式启动,忠武线、涩宁兰管线和引进LNG项目进展顺利,天然气市场开发取得重大进展,对外合作全方位展开。随着中国经济发展和人民生活水平的提高,人们环境意识的逐渐增强,政府对环境保护的日益重视,全国天然气输气管网的逐步形成,天然气工业将会持续、健康、快速地发展。

China's recoverable gas resources in creased by more than 330 billion cubic meters in 2000. Natural gas production during the year reached 27.7 billion cubic meters, an increased of 9.9% over 1999. Meanwhile, the Xinjiang to Shanghai gas pipeline project began without a hitch, and the gas pipeline projects for Zhongwu and Seninglan progressed smoothly. The projccl to import LNG also made considerable progress. The development of a gas market made important advances during the year, and foreign cooperation in China's gas industry was widespread. With a growing economy and improvement in people's standard of living, environmental consciousness is strengthening and the government is consequently paying increasing attention to environmental prelection. China's gas pipe line network continues its steady develop merit, and China's overall gas industry will exhibit strong and rapid development.
