On Mao Zedong's Thought of Self-reliance

毛泽东自力更生思想产生形成有其主客观条件，其发展经历了三个阶段。自力更生在毛泽东思想中具有重要的地位，对中国革命和建设具有重要作用。关于自力更生与争取外援的关系，毛泽东主张自力更生为主，争取外援为辅。毛泽东自力更生思想对中国今天的改革开放仍具有重要现实意义。

The emergence of Mao Zedong's thought of self-reliance has its own subjective and objective conditions. Its development went through three periods. The self-reliance was one of the important thoughts of Mao Zedong, and it has been playing an important role in Chinese revolution and construction. As to the relationship between self-reliance and external assistance, Mao Zedong maintained that we rely mainly on our own efforts while making external assistance subsidiary. Self-reliance still has its practical significance for the reformation and opening of China now.
