ON CLASSIFICATION OF DATABASE MACHINES

为了很好地对数据库机样机(方案)进行总结和归纳,本文提出了一个概括性很强的数据库机四要素分类法(FFCM)。该分类法结合四个最能反映数据库机特征的要素:数据库机采用的器件,部件间互连拓扑结构,数据I/O方式和数据库机处理机理,合理地将数据库机分为12类。文中还给出了各类机器的特点。四要素分类法对数据库机研究将起到指导作用。

In order to summarize the prototypes (or plans) of database machines, thispaper proposes a good-generalized Four-Factor Classifying Methods of database ma-chines, FFCM. In this classifying method, four factors which can reflect the characteristicsof database machines, are considered. Database machines are classified into classesreasonly by this classifying method. The features of each class of machines are also givenout in the paper. The four-factor classifying method would play a guiding role in the re-search on database machines.
