公民意识刍议

On the Awareness of Citizen

公民意识是政治民主化的必备内容之一。公民意识相对于臣民意识而言 ,指民众有独立的人格和理性精神 ,神圣的法律意识和权利义务观念 ,积极主动的政治参与热情。我国民众尚不具备现代公民意识 ,原因是多方面的 ,既有历史传统的影响 ,又有现代客观条件的限制。培育公民意识是我们艰巨的任务 ,必须从政治、经济、文化等方面入手。只有培育出现代公民意识 。

The citizen awareness is the required content of political democratization. Compared with the awareness of subjects of a feudal ruler, the citizen awareness means the citizen has the independent personality, the rational vitality, the law awareness, the sense of the right and duty, the enthusiasm of participating politics. In China, the citizens do not have modern citizen awareness for being influenced by the traditions and limited by the modern objective condition. To educate the citizen awareness is an arduous task and it must begin from politics, economy and culture. After the modern citizen awareness presents, our goal of democratic politic construction will be attained.
