William wordsworth was a famous English poet, a poet of nature. To the Cuckoo is a nature poem. Wordsworth made use of his past experience and wrote the poem through the mind's eye—the imagination. At the tip of his pen, the lovely bird, cuckoo, is a mysterious image. It is a wandering voice, enchanting hope and dream of childhood. The bird's singing stands for the ideal of the poet.
