婚姻基础是婚姻关系建立、存续、发展、解除的基本依据。一定社会的婚姻基础是该社会婚姻家庭制度的组成部分。与中国古代社会家族利益的婚姻基础相对应 ,现代中国的婚姻基础是个体利益 ,即个体对于婚姻在生理上、物质生活上、感情与精神生活上的要求与满足。

Matrimony basis is the foundation on which marriage relation is established,maintained,developed and dissolved.The matrimony basis is a component part of marriage and family system of a society.Corresponding to family interests,the matrimony basis of ancient society,the matrimony basis of modern China is individual interests,that is,the satisfaction of an individual's demands for marriage on aspects of physiology,material life,and emotional and spiritual life.
