徽州朴学及其治学特点

Huizhou Puxue and the Characteristics of its Scholarship

徽州朴学的学风是:通人情,致实用,断制谨严,条理密察,求真求是,学风质朴。其治学特点主要有三点:一是具有经世致用的治学目的,“实学”的思想始终贯穿在治学实践中;二是具有求真求是的治学精神,不株守前人之说,重客观,重证据,强调破“人蔽”,除“己蔽”,以求得“十分之见”。三是具有严谨科学的治学方法,从文字、训诂入手,讲究治学的伦理,用归纳、推理的科学方法,作出精邃的识断。

Huizhou Puxue is regarded as an important part of Puxue of Qing Dynasty and the source of Anhui Puxue in Qian-Jia period of Qing Dynasty.Huizhou Puxue abides by the principles of seeking truth from facts and inquiring into the an- swers of the knotty problems,so it has made great achievements in all kinds of aspects such as astronomy,calender,geogra- phy,linguistics and philology. The style of study of Huizhou Puxue is practical,plain,realistic,well-knit and being full of human sympathy,with clear and compact presentation.The characteristics of its scholarship have three main aspects.First of all,with a purpose of study- ing something in order to apply it,the thoughts of being practical and realistic run through the practice of the scholarly re- search all along.The second,it pays attention to objective facts and evidence with a spirit of being realistic.It also stresses that one should prevent others' viewpoints and his own subjective ideas influencing his scholarly research so that he can get the accurate conclusion.The third,it pursues its studies with strict and scientific methods and stresses the moral principles of doing seholoarly research.Beginning with the characters and the explanation of the words,it also makes a penetrating judge- ment by using the scientific method of inductive reasoning.
