本文作者认为，大学英语教学有必要加强常见的英语修辞用法知识的教授，以培养学生的语言应用能力。
With a view to improve students language ability, reading comprehension and appreciation, the author believes it quite necessary to enhance the illustration of some commonly used figures of speech in the teaching of Intensive Reading, College English.
