摘要
先秦到汉代给金刚石一词赋于深厚的中华文化内涵。唐中叶直到明代叫金刚钻 ,作为镌镂工具琢玉补瓷之用。清末叫钻石。时下有称“钻”。为尊重历史和继承中华文化传统 。
Diamond was called 'Jingangzuan' in Chinese from the medium age of the Tang Dynasty to the Ming Dynasty in which diamond was used as carving tool. From the Qing Dynasty, it has been called 'Zuanshi'. At present, it is also called 'Zuan'. In order to respect the history and carry forward Chinese cultural tranditions, the gem-class diamond should be referred to as 'Jingang Zuan' or 'Jingang' in Chinese.
