This paper gives a descriptio n of the physicochemical and mechani cal properties of two kinds o f chemical materials used in mine safety and produ ction and the ap plication principle of their associated coating technology in m i ning engineering such as con－solidation of surrounding rock，the control of v entilation and air leakage．
