提高配网管理现代化水平是城市配网改造的一部分。将地理信息系统（ＧＩＳ） 技术应用于配网管理， 可在地理背景图上对配网的变、配电站内设备及配电网上设备进行综合管理。目前已开发出多套配网管理ＧＩＳ系统， 如基于ＡＲＣ／ＩＮＦＯ开发的ＧＩＳ系统， 以ＭＡＰＩＮＦＯ为基础开发平台的ＧＩＳ系统， 基于ＡＭ／ＦＭ／ＧＩＳ软件平台ＥＦＧＩＳ开发的系统， 以及纯以Ｃ语言开发的软件。这些成熟的软件， 为提高配网管理现代化水平提供了方便。

Distribution automation is an important part of the urban distribution network modification.Applying Geographic Information System(GIS)to distribution management,the devices in substations and distribution stations as well as those on distribution network can be managed based on the geographic map.There are some distribution management geographic information systems developed recently,including those based respectively on ARC/INFO,MAPINFO,AM/FM/GIS or solely on language C.These softwares facilitate the automation of distribution management.
