The de excitation and rotor over voltage protecton is important to the safety operation of synchro generators.However,the said protection device popularly used in China can hardly ensure the safety operation of generating units nowadays.Consequently,this paper presents a new protective device,which is based on ZnO voltage sensitive resistance,and gives a detailed introduction to its principles and functions,etc.
