测算出我国“七五”以来机械工业、工业和国民经济发展速度；测算出机械工业发展超前系数，并通过比较分析，论证了我国机械工业发展滞后于工业和国民经济的发展及由此造成的不良后果；分析了我国机械工业发展滞后的原因，并提出了加快我国机械工业发展的几点建议。

The author calculates the development rates of the lasting three Five－Year Planning periods respectively for the machinery industry, the whole industry and the national economy, estimates the overstepping coefficient of the machinery industry development, through the comparative analysis reveals the fact of the slowing development of the machinery industry to the national economy, discusses the reasons and harmful effects of this economic situation, and presents the suggestions of speeding up the machinery industry development.
