From the 1970s to the Mid 1980s scholars in Shatin, Hong Kong achieve d outstanding results in the study of modern Chinese literature. They engaged in detailed reading based on a wide academic viewpoint, conducted careful textual research of historical materials and wrote in a fresh and lively style. All thes e have exerted profound influence in the study of modern Chinese literature.
