留学生是五四文学革命的发难者 ;陈独秀、胡适、李大钊等围绕《新青年》倡导文学革命 ,发表了《文学改良的刍议》、《文学革命论》等 ;鲁迅的小说则最充分地显示了文学革命的实绩 ;

Returned students were the sponsors of 5.4 Literature Revolution. Chen Duxiu, Hu Shi and Li dazhao initiated the literature by means of the periodic 'New Youth', in which Hu Shi published 'Humble Opinion on Literature Reform' and Chen Duxiu published 'On Literature Revolution '. Lu Xun's novels fully embodied the achievement in the literature revolution, Guo Moruo began a new poem style and his poem represented the highest achievement in the incipient period of new poem. All of these people were returned students without exception.
