Determining Rules of Writing with Ancient Masterpieces as Reference and Creating New Works According to Present Trend:Liu Xiqing's Theory of Writing

刘锡庆对现代写作学的理论贡献是多方面的 :从基础理论到文体论 ,从教学论到史论 ,都有建树。尤其在基础理论方面 ,他用力最勤 ,成就最大。他“望今制奇 ,参古定法” ,把“以文为本”的传统文章学转换为“以写为中心”的现代写作学。

Liu Xiqing has made a contribution to the subject of modern writing in many ways as far as the theory of writing is concerned. He has made outstanding achievements in such aspects as theory on types of writing, theory on teaching, theory on history of writing, and particularly basic theory where he has made the greatest efforts. He succeeded in transforming the traditional article-centered subject of articles into the writing-centered subject of modern writing by'creating new works according to present trend' and detemining rules of writing rules of writing with ancient mastepieces as reference
