One of the main research fields of STFI Chemnitz/Germany is very coarse warp knitting. The institute has great competence in this special area of technical textiles. The basic principle was an extremely coarse warp knitting technology developed by the STFI. The warp knitting machine GWM 1200 produced by Jacob Mller AG, Frick, for several years was based on this technology.
