A Comparative Study of Chinese Classic Poetry and Imagist Poetry

中国古典诗词与英美意象派诗歌在意象的营造方面存在着一些共同特点 :追求简洁 ,突出意象 ,时空自由 ;会意性强 ,分析性弱 ,且多数诗歌具有明显的绘画效果。然而 ,基于中英两种语言的结构模式差异 ,中国古典诗词大致属于常规性语言范畴 。

There exist between Chinese Classic Poetry and Imagist Poetry some similarities;the pursuit of pithy syle,the foregrounding of images and the freedom of time and space.Most of the poems are to be appreciated by sensing farther than by analysing;and conspicuously,they possess picturesque effect.However,due to the difference between the two languages in structural mode,Chinese Classic Poetry is considered to be in the category of normal language while the other in that of deveational language.
