大学办学定位理念是大学校长希望把大学办成什么样子的一种教育理念 ,是他们持有的具有强烈主观色彩的关乎自己所在大学的方向选择、角色定位、特色所在的大学理想和价值追求。大学校长办学定位理念对治校的实践意义主要体现在两个方面 :第一 ,有利大学确认自己的“身份”,进行类型定位 ;第二 ,有利大学确定自己的目标 ,进行水平定位。

The so\|called idea of presidents' management orientation is an educational issue about what they hope the universities will be like. So it's a rather subjective view on what directions to choose, the role orientation, the specific ideal and value aim, etc. And the presidents' idea will influence their practice in the two aspects as follows: to help identify the university's place; to help set its own goals.
