： The paper presents a agent－based distributed management architecture in National College and University Enrollment Management System on Internet．The architecture consists of three types of agents：interface agent，task agent and resource agent．The functions of agents are described．Dynamic selection mechanism for task agents are developed．The communication methods among agents are presented．The architecture for agent based distributed information systems is implemented successfully in National College and University Enrollment Management System on Internet．This system introduces several techniques applied at improving system performance and capability of getting information from different distributed information sources．
