This paper elucidates how and why the sugar production, consumption, imports and exports of the whole world have been changing during the past decade On the basis of the analysis, it also makes a rough prediction on the trend of the upper four. The aim of this paper is to provide some basic information for those who are interested in getting a rough idea of the world sugar. At the same time, it also provides some useful and reliable information for sugar producing, importing and exporting countries which would work out their sugar policies, and sugar mills and farmers who would make their production decisions.
