The background, aim, content, method, standard, guideline and the way of international cooperation of national forest health monitoring planning of United State of American are introduced, which is helpful to guide the forest ecological and environmental monitoring. Based on the development of forestry and the current status of forest in China,a suggestion on facilitating the forest health monitoring and forest ecological monitoring in China was put forward.
