This is a synthetical report on the accievements in scientific research.According to theresults of assaying the grain quality of nearly 1000 materials of rice varieties and the studyon the rice grain quality,in the paper,the authors summarize the features of grain qualityof various types of rice variety resources in China,the inheritance and corelation of mainquality traits in rice,and the relationship between grain-filling characteristics and grainquality of good-quality varieties.The preliminary approach is also made to the criterions,evluating indexs and breeding methods for good-quality rice.Furthermore,the applicationvalue and the efficiency of the research results are put forward.
