摘要 Sincehisassump tionofoffice ,GeorgeBushJr.hasgiventopprioritytonationaldefense .TheBushteamhasworked outanewmilitarystrategyafterassessingthecurrentmilitarypolicy.Itrevealsthebasicthinkingof futureUSmilitarypolicyastheretentionofthestatusofthesolesuperpower.Itwillshiftthefocus ofstrategicconcernfromEuropetoAsia Pacific,readjustcurrentmilitarypolicyforassuringabso lutesupremacy.Itwillpossiblyslashitsstockpileofnuclearweaponstowinconcessionsfrom Moscow .ItwillinsistonNMDdevelopmentanddeploymenttocaptureadvantagesinbothoffense anddefense.Itwillalsoheightenthecontentionforouterspaceinabidtowinthecontrol.Itisalso readytoabandonthemilitarydoctrineofwinningtwomajorwars.Forrealizationofthenewmilitary strategy ,GeorgeBushhasappointedastrongdefense/foreignpolicyteamwithalmostallitsmem bershavingmilitarybackgroundorhavingservedassoldierswiththeexceptionofStateSecurityAide CondoleezzaRice .Theyhaveallheldimportantpositionsinthepreviousadministrationsandplayed significantrolesindecision making .ThenewmilitarystrategyofGeorgeW .Bushwilldefinitely castheavyshadowsoverglobalpeaceandstabilityinthe 2 1stcentury .
