刘半农积极参加新文化运动 ,培养和锻炼了他的创新思想。此后 ,在学术研究中 ,他十分注意创新 ,注意开拓新领域 ,研究新问题 ,取得了丰硕成果。刘半农一直十分重视政治 ,关心社会 ,关心现实 ,具有“经世致用”的思想。他主张学习西方 ,但反对崇洋媚外 。

Liu Ban nong took part in the New Culture Movement activety. It fostered and trained his innovative thought. Later, he paid much attention to innovation, developing new fields and researching new problems. He achieved great success in his academic research. LIU Ban nong attached great importance to politics all the time. He was concerned about politics, society and realities and he held a thought of applying theory to reality. He advocated studying from the west, but he opposed worshipping the west. He had strong patriotism.
