人是社会发展的主体。人的素质提高是实现可持续发展的关键。目前，我国人的素质状况不容乐观，思想道德素质、科学文化素质、职业技能素质、人的现代化思维方式等都较低，这样是很难适应社会可持续发展的要求。因此，我们必须采取各种切实可行的措施，全面提高人的素质。
Human being is the main part of social development. The improvement of human quality is the key to the realization of sustainable develoment. At present in China, human quality, including ideological and moral quality, scientific and cultural quality, professional skill and modern thinking mode, is at a comparatively low level, which is difficult to meet the requirements of social sustainable development.
