义序与中国宗族研究范式

Yixu and the Chinese lineage paradigm

著名民族学家林耀华先生的燕京大学硕士毕业论文为《义序的宗族研究》。义序位于福建省福州南台岛 ,1934年林先生前往调查时 ,人口几乎全是黄姓一族人。《义序的宗族研究》即是对黄姓宗族的研究 ,表明林先生已从考据式的拜祖研究转向以田野工作为主的功能与实证研究。但这篇论文没有公开发表 ,知之者不多。现在看来 ,我们可将其视作中国宗族研究范式的奠基之作。

A study of lineages in Yixu” was a master\|degree thesis written by Prof.Lin Yaohua when he graduated from Yanjing University.Yixu is located at Nantai Island of Fuzhou in Fujian.Its inhabitants were almost all surnamed Huang when Prof.Lin made an investigation there in 1934.The paper was a study of the lineage surmamed Huang.It showed that Prof.Lin's study has changed from textual research in ancestors to functional and practical research based on fieldwork.The paper was not published.Few people knew about it.It can be taken as a basic work for the study of Chinese lineages.
