With some statistics of a bibliography entitled A Selective Bibliography of Acquisition, Testing, and Teaching of Language, this article analyses and discusses the achievement made in the field of TEFL. Thereby it suggests that researchers 1. pay more attention to the theories of language learning and acquisition; 2. further the study of the interrelationship between aspects of EFL teaching and learning as well as of each aspect as it is; 3. make good use of the interaction and development of neighbouring subjects; and 4. do more teaching experiments and investigations.
