牛肃《纪闻》与佛教

Niu Shu <Ji wen> and Buddhism

佛教东渐,与中国传统文化交汇互融,经过几百年流播,至隋唐,影响已渐入肌理。此时的诸部佛典完备译出,成为刺激隋唐五代叙事文学演变发展的一种活跃因素。本文以牛肃《纪闻》为对象,全面爬梳其中之佛经故事的踪影,逐一胪列新发现的受佛经故事题材濡染刻烙的小说,探寻其“本事”之源。文中从汉译佛典及相关传录中梳理出部分小说题材之“摹本”,以实证材料同小说题材相对应,从而论证小说融摄佛经故事,以展示梵汉文化交融对隋唐五代小说的深层影响。

Buddhism had been disseminated towards the east, and meanwhile blended with Chinese traditional culture for several centuries. It played an important role in the Chinese society during the Sui and Tang Dynasties. By this time the Buddhist Scriptures had been translated completely and become an active factor that stimulated narrative literature of this period to develop. This paper, taking Niu Su <JI WEN> as an object, combs the traces of the Buddhist Scripture stories in it and enumerates those novels and stories immersed and carved in subject matters of Buddhist Scriptures and traces their sources. It is proved that Chinese versions of Buddhist Scriptures exercised influences on the context of the fictions. In the paper some fictions' 'prototype'is unearthed from Buddhist Scriptures and corresponding records in order to demonstrate that the fictions were effected by Buddhism Scriptures and to show the profound influence of the cultural blending between India and China on the fictions of the Sui and Tang Dynasties.
