艺术的历史巡礼——维米尔油画作品的赏析

Appreciating Vermeer's Paintings

300多年前去世的画家维米尔留下了许多为人们喜爱的大师级的油画作品,人们对维米尔作于17世纪的风景画名作《德尔夫特》已十分熟悉。但是就如伦勃朗的生平很少为人所知,维米尔的艺术生涯也充满了神秘之处:如这幅《德尔夫特》究竟创作于什么年代,许多艺术史学家认为《德尔夫特》画的是1660年的德尔夫特小镇。笔者通过对作品及史料的分析,认为这幅作品较有可能完成于1661至此1663年间。并由此而对油画《德尔夫特》产生的一种新的思考。

More than three centuries after his death, Vermeer remains the most deeply loved of all the great masters of painting. His landscape Delft painted in the 17th century is so familiar to people, yet still so mysterious. The facts of his life are hard to come by. When did Vermeer paint this picture in Delft town? Many art historians assumed that Vermeer painted Delft as it was in 1660. Through analysis of the painting and other related material the writer assumes that the painting may have been finished between 1661 and 1663. Superbly incisive descriptions and interpretations of Vermeer paintings will enable people to see the date of painting and to think about it afresh.
