中国翻译理论体系研究的路向问题

Pertinent Comment on Weak Cornerstones of Constructing a Basic System of China's Translation Theory

我国翻译历史悠邈，经验丰赡，虽则散述赅博，只是方家寥落。近４０年来，要构建具有中国特色的翻译理论体系的呼喊日趋高涨，文章会议时有争执辩答，交叉之点却多嫌琐屑零碎。粤港澳台欲以“翻译与现代化”为题举办“海峡两岸四地翻译工作经验交流会”，探索翻译的功能、理论、路向和方法等问题，这便要对眼下理论体系的构建性、继承性、借鉴性。实践性、科学性和传授性诸方面的难点与短处作一简切分析。只有对我国富足而卓绝的翻译实践进行充分而系统的总结，特别是能对当代名家的移译经验加以鞭辟入里的归纳，一部真正能展现中国特色的翻译理论体系的基础翻译学才可能面世。

Translating is probably the most complex type of event in the history of the the cosmos. The reality today is that in many instances the differences about principles of translation only reflect changing fashion about literature, and in some cases heated arguments about how to translate seem to reflect little more than Personal Prejudices, theological presuppositions and literary rivalries. The essential Prerequisite in building a theoretical system of translation in China is a comprehensive exploration and Penetrating induction of rich and ripe experiences of the people in their erudite and brilliant practice.
