To Construct Socialist Political Democracy under the Guidanceof “Three Represents”

能否代表最广大人民的根本利益是我们党最核心的政治问题。“三个代表”正是指出了我国现代化建设的经济、文化和政治的基本内涵。党要更好地代表最广大人民群众的根本利益 ,根本的途径就在于实行民主政治。民主政治真正体现了先进文化的前进方向 ,反映了先进生产力的发展要求。它不仅是党赖以代表人民群众利益的根本的制度化途径 ,而且是社会主义必须不懈追求的价值目标和制度形态 ,是关系社会主义前途和命运的重大问题。

It is our Party s most critical political issue as to whether or not it can repr esent the fundamental interests of the overwhelming majority of the people in Ch ina. “Three Represents” indeed has defined basic content in terms of economica l, cultural and political construction in China's modernization. To better repre sent the fundamental interests of the overwhelming majority of the people, the P )rty must adopt political democracy as the fundamenta approach. For political d emocracy can truly reflect an orientation towards advanced culture and the devel opment demand of advanced productive forces. It is not only the systematic appro ach by which the Party can represent interests of the people, but also the targe ted value and system from which a socialist country must constantly seek. This i s a major issue and is connected with the future and fate of socialist movement.
