生态美的提出，是人类对自然生态绝对性、必然性的一个回应。生态美具有生命性、宜人性、全人类性的性质。生态美学的哲学基础为生态哲学。生态哲学在主客体关系上不承认人的绝对主体性，反对主客两分，在价值观上既承认人的价值，又承认自然的价值。
