Analysis of the Distinctiveness of the Only Child in Chinese Families

中国独生子女群体的产生和发展是特定人口政策的产物。而独生子女政策使多数中国人的生育意愿和生育现实产生明显的落差 ,也使独生子女父母对孩子寄予与社会现实相偏离的社会期望 ,从而深刻影响独生子女的个性成长和全面发展。文章从社会学角度 ,通过对中国独生子女产生的特殊条件以及由此产生的矛盾的分析 ,探讨中国独生子女特异性问题。

Development of Chinese only_children group is an outcome of special population policy (Only_child_policy),which has produced differences not only between child_bearing will of most Chinese,and the birth reality,but also between parents' high expectations of their only child and those required by the social reality. These differences deeply influence the personality growth and all_round development of Chinese only_children. This paper, through studying in sociological perspective, the particular condition in which Chinese only_children arise and the social contradictions resulted from the particular conditions,probes into the social problem of Chinese only_children.
