A Talk about the Causes of the Destruction of the Western Roman Empire——A Concurrent Comparison with the Han Empire

中国与西罗马是古代世界两个类型不同的文明中心，它们在社会政治经济形态、文化思想意识、社会功能结构等方面，有着极大的差异，正是因为这种差异，使它们对来自北方游牧民族的冲击产生了不同后果；一个解除了这种威胁，并将这种威胁远逐他方，迫使其向另一文明中心转移；而另一文明中心却在这种冲击浪潮中灭亡了，究其根本原因，在于汉文化的内聚力和辐射力要比古罗马文化更为强大。

China and Rome are two different ancient civilisation centre that have great differences in social-political and social-economic formation,in cultural ideology and in social functional structure,which led to their different fate when attacked by the nomadic people from the north,that is,one centre removed the threat by driving them out and forcing them into the other centre while the other was destroyed.The reason for that lies in the fact that the Chinese culture has stronger cohesive force and radiant power than the Roman culture.
