Latent Semantic Analysis is a technique for improving the effectiveness of information retrieval methods. This paper analyzes the principle and structure of LSA, and discusses the application of LSA in cognitive science, which focuses on the areas of the text comprehension and peoples approach to acquiring,inducing and representing knowledge.
