In this paper, it is introduced how to control engi neering cost in the phase of building engineering design. Combined engineering design with experien ce, measures adopted on technique and economic are stated, and the possibility o f saving investment is discussed. Primary design, technical design and construct ion drawing design should be controlled and confined by engineering cost. At la st, it is pointed out that only through effectively controlling engineering cost in the phase of design, could limited capital create the maximal effect of inve stment.
