An analysis is made of the preparation of the silver catalyst in formaldehyde production, its treatment and the control of the production process. The influencing factors of methanol consumption are explained in formaldehyde production, with stress on catalyst manufacture, use and protection, and the appropriate measures of resolution are proposed.
