microPET是基于正电子发射断层显像(PET)临床诊断技术发展起来的专门用于小动物活体实验研究的断层显像装置。与临床用PET系统相比,它在多项技术上做了重要的改进,显著改善了系统的空间分辨率。利用这一工具,可以在整个时间进程中对单个小动物体内放射性示踪剂浓度进行动态跟踪和反复测量,提供高质量的图像和定量分析结果,从而达到在动物身上进行一系列人类疾病综合研究的目的。在致病机制、基因工程和药物研究等领域具有广泛的应用前景。
MieroPET is a high resolution positron emission tomography scanner designed for small animal studies. In order to perform in vivo molecular imaging at a resolution sufficient to reveal major structures of small animals such as mouse, it combines the attributes of several important technologies and methodologies. With the achieved high resolution, it permits the entire time course of tracers to be measured effectively within a single animal, provides the means for repeated studies for the same subject and facilitates monitoring the eflects of therapeutic interventions over time. It may be expected that the advances will not only help biomedical researchers answer questions about their animal models, as related to diseased or normal human function, but also pose new tasks for clinical PET development and research .
