Virtual Reality, which is the fusion of computer and information science, is thought to be the most advanced technology in the field of information science in 21st century,and has got academic attention worldwide. This paper introduces the basic concept of Virtual Reality, the theory of Virtual Reality technology and the hardware and software technology for constructing Virtual Reality systems.The development of Virtual Reality systems, the key technology and the applications of Virtual Reality are also discussed.
