Clothes──the Important Carrier of Culture──A Brief Analysis of the Song Dynasty and Its Cultural Background

通过对宋代历史文化背景的分析，概述了宋代服饰的特点。从具有代表性的宋代官服、文人服饰与宋明理学、儒家思想、禅宗、宋词、山水画等特定时期文化氛围之间的关系，阐明了服饰是重要的文化载体。

This paper presents a brief introduction of the properties of the clothes of the Song Dynasty by analyzing the historical and cultural background during the period. It highlights the relation between the most representative clothes of Song Dynasty, namely the clothes of senior officials and scholars, and its particular cultural background such as the rationalistic Confucian philosophy, Chan sect, poetry as well as the mountains-and-waters (Chinese traditiona1) painting, thus drawing the conclusion that clothes are an important carrier of culture.
