At present the educational reform and development is to carry out innovative education and develop innovative talents. This paper describes innovation and the connotation, characteristics of innovative education and how to carry out innovative education. The paper points out that it is necessary to promote quality education in all-round way and to carry out innovations of methods, mechanisms and ideas, esp. to develop college students' consciousness, thinking and ability of innovation if innovative talents are to be developed and innovative education is to be carried out.
